Warrior Resiliency Program:
Warrior Ethos for Non-Combative Roles
in the U.S. Air Force
Theory
There is a lack of emphasis on warrior resiliency and capability for airmen in non-combative roles in the U.S. Air Force. The Warrior Resiliency Program is a physical training (PT) and skills-based program created to strengthen the mental and physical resiliency of airmen. This is accomplished through a rigorous fitness regimen and a curriculum of survival and combat skills.
Implementation
This program was designed from an Air Force National Guard perspective, but its principles may be easily applied to other contexts, whether civilian or military. Within a military context, the basic implementation of the program involves the following three steps.
Step One: Leadership Approval
Create a plan for your program, including necessary resources, and present it to your leadership for approval.
Step two: Recruiting Participants
Share information about your program and recruit participants, coordinating with supervisors as needed.
Step Three: Program Implementation
Host your first meeting, clearly state expectations to participants and be prepared to overcome any obstacles you may encounter.
